About North Bay Local

North Bay Local is a free, invitation only directory of local businesses in North Bay, Ontario, and the towns around it. Every profile on this site started as a conversation. I sit down with the owner, usually over a coffee, record the interview, and write their story from what they told me, what is on their own website, and what their customers have said in reviews. The owner reads every word and approves it before the page goes live.

Who writes the profiles

I am Paul Meyers. I run PM Consulting Inc. in North Bay, a marketing agency that helps local businesses win back customers from the big companies with the big ad budgets. I started North Bay Local in September 2026 because the best businesses in town are not always the ones you see first, and the people who run them deserve a fair shot at getting found.

How a business gets listed

Listings are free, but invitation only. A business applies or is nominated, I review it, and if it is a fit we book an interview. No business pays to be here and no business can buy a better position. You are seeing owners who earned their spot because they are proud of what they do and stand behind their work.

What a profile includes

The owner's story in their own words, the services they offer, the areas they serve, their hours and location where they have one, a few of their reviews, and the quickest ways to reach them. Where the owner has confirmed every detail, the page carries a Verified badge.
