Meet Krystal Wuerch, the Owner Behind Busy Bee's Kleaning in North Bay
When you text Busy Bee's Kleaning, Krystal Wuerch is the one who answers, and she is very likely one of the people who will show up to clean your home. She was born in North Bay, where her parents were military and lived up on the base. She left at nine, spent years in the States, finished high school in Winnipeg, then lived in BC and Alberta before coming home to Ontario. This month marks almost seven years back in the area.
Ask her why she cleans and the answer is not about floors. A messy house messes with your mental health, she says, and a clean kitchen or a scrubbed bathtub lets you breathe again. When a client tells her she has helped with that, she keeps it. She saves every review and every kind text, and sometimes she just reads them.
How a House Fire Helped Spark Busy Bee's Kleaning
Her first client came while she was doing housekeeping at the Ramada. A coworker, a single mom, was struggling to keep up at home, and Krystal offered to help. It became a weekly thing. Later she cleaned for Taylor Maid and realized she could do this on her own. Her dad owned a business and so does her brother, so as she puts it, it runs in the family.
Then a house fire took the home she and her son were living in, and they spent time living in a motel. That is when the business really started. She took on clients to get them into a new place, and at the same time studied business administration from home through TriOS College. She put everything she learned straight into the business, and when she moved to Sturgeon Falls, the cleaning covered all of it.
Krystal later studied to be a community service worker and spent about ten months as a case worker with CMHA. She loved the work, but she came back to cleaning because building her own thing gives her more drive. Now, she says, she gets to help people with their mental health in her own way.
Why It Is Kleaning With a K
The business started out as Krystal's House Cleaning for Busy Bees, which was a mouthful. When she looked it up, there were hundreds of Busy Bee's Cleanings out there. Her name starts with a K, so the cleaning does too.
What to Know Before You Hire a House Cleaner in North Bay
Krystal's advice is to understand what you are paying for. Cleaning is hard work, and supplies cost money. Busy Bee's Kleaning brings everything, unless you would rather they use your own products, in which case they will. So when you compare cleaners, do not expect twenty dollars an hour, and ask what is included.
She also does not post her rates. She would rather talk with you first, because in her experience it is often not the price that sells it, it is the person. Busy Bee's Kleaning is insured and bonded, and every client signs an agreement that spells out the work.
Regular House Cleaning, Deep Cleans, and Move Outs in North Bay, Powassan and Corbeil
Most of Krystal's week is regular clients on a weekly, bi weekly or monthly schedule. She also does deep cleans and move out cleans. About half her clients are home while she works, and many of them are seniors, which is why Busy Bee's Kleaning takes 10 percent off for seniors and for military. The military discount was her mom's idea.
She works in North Bay and about an hour around it, including Powassan and Corbeil, with a travel fee for the longer drives. One customer hired her from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, for a job in Corbeil, sight unseen, and wrote that it could not have gone better.
The Busy Bee's Kleaning Team
It is a small crew. Krystal cleans alongside Kassandra, with a K, which is even more fitting at Busy Bee's Kleaning. Her husband steps in when a day needs an extra pair of hands. He was her very first cleaner. Letting someone else clean your clients' homes was the hard part, Krystal says, and she learned that everyone works a little differently, as long as it meets the standard. She is looking to train one more person to that same level.
Her husband also has more than twenty five years in auto detailing, and runs the auto care side of the business in the warmer months.
What Customers Say About Busy Bee's Kleaning
If you asked Krystal what she wants a review to say, it is attention to detail, being on time, being friendly, and doing exactly what was asked. On Facebook, 96 percent of her reviewers recommend her. Nominated for a 2027 Canadian Choice Award by her husband, she says she was mostly just happy to cheer everyone on.
What to Expect When You Text Busy Bee's Kleaning
Text or message Krystal on Facebook and tell her what you are looking for, weekly or bi weekly, and a little about your house. She will give you her hourly rate, with a three hour minimum. If it works for you, she books a meet and walkthrough. You give her a tour, point out what matters most, and go over an agreement that covers what gets done, the cleaning products, liability, and whether she can take before and after photos. Then your house is on her schedule. Refer a friend and you get 10 percent off your next clean once their first one is done.
Her Facebook page says it best: let us take the stress out of your mess.
